Factory Stories

Factory Story - Lira

Lira

Larson-Juhl factory in the Czech Republic is Lira. Located in the picturesque village of Cesky Krumlov, Lira celebrated its 130th anniversary in 2011. Lira is best known for creating some of our most exceptional designs, including those with intricate details, historically influenced compo designs, and exquisite patinas. One of the unique features about Lira is the way they mill their own straight from the tree rather than purchasing from pre-milled boards.

Acrobalegno

Arcobalegno

The Arcobalegno factory is Larson-Juhl's manufacturing plant in Italy. Founded in 1981, the strength of this operation is its ability to use technology to advance the finishes on the mouldings they create. Their process allows them to build layers of finish to provide one-of-a-kind looks. Although the end product relies on the precision of machines, it's the Arcobalegno team that brings the spirit to their mouldings.

Ashland

Founded in 1957, our Ashland, Wisconsin facility is where Larson Picture Frame manufactured its first mouldings. Those first 50 Ash and Oak mouldings became standards in the industry; with some still selling well decades later. Today the Ashland team is still known for its North American hardwood mouldings, but they have also branched out into a variety of unique styles and finishes.
